Job Description / Responsibilities
This position is mainly responsible to provide support the Manager–Procurement by directly carrying out various procurement activities in SC country office. The role encompasses procurement support to general procurement, to program procurement as well as emergency preparedness and humanitarian relief procurements. The Officer will prepare purchase requisitions, get price quotes based on specifications, purchase goods, assist in customs clearing; take inventory, register goods in and out, and prepare input for reports. S/he is responsible for ensuring applying the procurement policies and procedure of Bangladesh country office.
At least 3 years’ experience in procurement process and functions, preferably in development organization. S/he is expected to have sound knowledge on procurement of different goods/products of international standards, experience in emergency response is highly desirable. Experience of working with local commodities transporters will be an advantage, MS Office proficiency and ability to work in high stress situations and emergency response. Bachelor Degree, preferably in Business Studies or relevant discipline.
